Redpoint comp
Basic Structure and Timing
Classic Redpoint: Points are assigned to each route based on difficulty. You can try as many routes as you want, but at the end, only your top 5 highest-valued climbs are tallied for your final score.
Time Limit: Competitors typically get a block of 4 hours to climb.
Selection: You are given a scorecard with numerous routes of varying difficulty
No Isolation: Unlike "onsight" finals, you are generally not placed in isolation. You can watch others climb, rest between attempts, and discuss "beta" (strategy and advice) with friends.
Scoring: Your final score is determined by your 5 highest-scoring climbs, while the number of attempts you take on those routes acts as a tiebreaker.Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
